Mary Kay Voxbox

 Hello hello!

When I was emailed by Influenster that I had been qualified to receive the Mary Kay Voxbox I was excited. It wasn't until I actually received the products that I was over the moon. Check out this amazing package from Influenster!

Today I am going to talk about the Mary Kay True Dimensions Lipstick in Pink Cherie that was included in the box.

The above pic was copied from the Mary Kay website. The lipstick itself comes in a sleek sliver tube. At first I was confused how to open it since just pulling the bottom part like all of my other lipstick tubes was not working. However, I quickly figured out you have to press on the top of the lid to slide the lipstick out.
The color is a soft pink that really compliments my medium skin tone.

My favorite part about the lipstick is the feel. It is so soft and buttery when you apply it to your lips. It feels heavenly. I find myself reaching for it in my purse every time I need a lipstick. I cannot say enough positive things about Pink Cherie. I highly recommend it!

Thank you Mary Kay and Influenster for the opportunity to try the this lipstick! You can always check out more Mary Kay's awesome products here
Kisses!

Mama's Day

Hello Hello!

Hope you all had a lovely Mother's Day. I had all intentions on sharing my current favorite lipstick with you but I am trying the new Covergirl 3-in-1 foundation that everyone is raving about and it broke my skin out so bad. Total bummer. So instead of showing you pics of my zit covered face, I opted for something prettier. Let's talk about Mother's Day.

We had plans to go to the zoo bright and early on Sunday with my family, so I was surprised on Saturday when I opened the front door and was greeted with these beautiful flowers. I love love tigerlillies and they are just so pretty in this bouquet. I put them in our kitchen and they make the room smell wonderful. Mother's Day was already off to a great start.

The morning of Mother's Day, I woke up to find my little princess with this adorable onesie on!

I later found out that my mum had picked the onesie up at Old Navy for only $5.00!

Now onto my favorite gift of the day- a Tiffany's Mom necklace. I absolutely love it!

I really like that the blocks are subtle and dainty. Don't get me wrong I love that they say 'mom' but would never want to wear the gawdy jewelry I use to try and buy my mom when I was little. You know- the necklaces where mom is written in cursive in font size 108 across her chest. Yea, now I understand.

We had a great time at the zoo and my first Mother's Day was definitely a favorite day of mine. I am so blessed to be a mama to such a sweet girl and I can't wait to see what my next Mother's Day brings.Pressure on the hubs to come up with something just as good for next year. jk jk (sort of).

Wonderful WubbaNubs

 Let's talk pacifiers...

A package arrived a few days after we had returned home from the hospital. It was a gift from a family friend and inside was a card, an adorable outfit and a WubbaNub. A "wub-a-what?"I asked as I read the tag again. What the heck is this thing?

The card read that their young son had loved these pacifiers and he promised Soph would too. I'll be honest, I was skeptical. At the hospital Soph had not been a fan of any kind of binkies. She would spit them right back out and wanted nothing to do with them. I thought if she hated the regular pacifiers then this one didn't stand a chance.

I was completely wrong. She loves them!

The plastic pacifier is cute and is in the shape of a smiley face. It is also made of silicone so they are okay for little ones with a latex allergy.

Soph also loves the fact that the stuffed animals are soft and lay on her chest. While she is in her car seat or laying down for a nap she loves to hold onto the stuffed animal. It seems to be quite comforting for her.

WubbaNubs come in a variety of fun animals from elephants to bears and kitties. Truth is, we never go anywhere without one. We currently own the monkey, spotted dog, duck and the giraffe.  They each have their own names from Monty to Bernie and Quackers. I always get a laugh when the baby's crying and my husband is running around the house shouting, "Where's Quackers? Get Monty!"

A note for dog owners - our golden retriever lovessss WubbaNubs too. We lost the first Wub when our dog decided to swipe it off the counter and bury it in the sofa.

Other than a dog attraction, the only issue I have- is cleaning them. The pacifier is sewn onto the mouth of the stuffed animal, which makes it a bit challenging to clean. If it falls on the ground and I just want to wash the plastic part- the stuffed animal always seems to get soaked -no matter how careful I am. Therefore, I have to wait to give her the clean pacifier since I don't want her shirt and chest to get wet. So you always have to have a clean dry one ready to go. It says WubbaNubs are machine washable, but I have yet to try that out. I just wash the stuffed animal part by hand in the sink.

You can purchase them here and a relative also found some at a local Toys R Us store.

Bottom Line: WubbaNubs are wonderful- you just may need a couple.

Sunday Outfit

Hello hello!

I just wanted to quickly pop on and show you the adorable outfit Soph wore for a brunch we went to this weekend. Little girls clothes are too cute not to share especially when there is leopard print involved!

This particular outfit is from Carter's. The top is a soft velvety hot pink. I just love the little ruffles. The leggings are a leopard/snow leopard print. However, it was the silver glittery shoes that were the star of the show and her favorite part of the outfit.

Later this week- binkies and my favorite eyeliner! Stay tuned and have a great week!

Bath time

Rub a dub dub, let's talk about the tub!

Hope everyone is doing well! Today I am reviewing the IVORY 2-IN- 1 Hair and Body Wash. This product was sent to me to by Influenster. I was so excited to get it! So let's get started...

The bottle states that the "Ivory hair and body wash cleans you from head to toe while leaving your hair conditioned." My husband and I both tried it out and liked it for different reasons. My favorite part about the product is the clean and refreshing scent. It is not overwhelming and the hubby made a good point that the smell is "gender neutral." He never wants to walk around smelling like a big old peach or strawberry.

Truth is I have crazy frizzy hair and was afraid to use it for shampoo as I didn't want to scare any of  my clients or the bb so I only used it as a body wash. The product did not leave any film or residue on my skin which was nice. I definitely find myself reaching for it again and again in the shower.

My husband did use the wash as shampoo and had overall positive reviews as he yelled them out of the shower- men. He said that it sudsed (is that the past tense for suds?) Anyways, the wash left his hair feeling really clean. He has fine hair though and said that after he dried and combed it, he didn't like that his hair was really flat.

Bottom Line: We both would purchase this again to use as a great body wash but not as a shampoo.

***I should note that while trying to obtain another cute picture of bb and the wash I managed to drop my cell phone into the bottom of her whale tub. I'm not just talking drop and catch, no this thing sank like a rock to the depths of the tub. I thought it was a goner. As I desperately searched the all- knowing internet for what to do to save my phone, I came across many sites suggesting sticking my cell in a bag of white rice for 36 hours. Of course, the bb passed out immediately after the nice warm bath and I really dreaded walking her up. While I did not have any actual rice, I had a box of her rice cereal. I ended up dumping half of it into a plastic bag with my phone. I figured it's not like anything worse could possibly happen to it. I went to bed and when I woke up at 5 the next morning to make her a bottle, I could not resist checking on my phone. The IPhone gods must have been smiling down on me that day cause wouldn't you know- it works! My phone is fine! So a little f.y.i. for those unlucky mums who also manage to drop their beloved cells into toilets and tubs, try some rice cereal and hopefully it works for you too!

Until next time!

The W word

Hello darlings...

Let's talk about wrinkles. Gag, I know. I kid you not I went to bed on the eve of my 30th birthday, wrinkle free and woke up that next morning with three etched lines across my forehead. Wah. That night, after eating mass quantities of birthday cake, I went in search of some good old wrinkle cream. I wanted one that helped (obviously) and was not too too expensive. After hours and hours of scouring the web, I found a serum with  good reviews at Sally's Beauty Supply and decided to try it out.

It's the Retinol Vitamin Enriched Anti-Wrinkle Facial Serum by Skincare L de L Cosmetics. The bottle states it is an Intensive Firming Treatment with 500,000 I.U.'s Vitamin A ( which I looked up is apparently a lot of Vitamin A). This bottle here contains 1 fl oz/ 30 ml which does not sound like much but has lasted me over 3 months so far.  It's inexpensive too and runs around $10.99 a bottle. The dropper is easy to use and I just apply a few drops to my fingers and massage the serum into those darn lines.

Here's the deal. I like it, I really do. The key is you have to be disciplined and put that sucker on your forehead every morning and every night before bed. If you use it consistently, as it states on the bottle, you do see results. If you happen to skip a few days, which being on a newborn schedule for awhile, I was happy if I remembered to put on deodorant, the lines do come back in full force.

Bottom Line: Will I continue to use it, yes. Will I look for something else,  yes. I actually just ordered  Frownies online. Has anyone tried them yet?

Soothing Seahorse

So you read the bedtime story, got a bath, had a bottle. Check. Check. Check. After a long day of playing and pooping and eating, Mama bear is ready to call it a night. You yawn and peek down to your lap hoping that your little bundle of joy, all warm and swaddled up, has passed out for the evening-- Not so much. as you soon discover those big eyes wide awake and ready to go. Hallllp!

Have no fear mummy. You still have one more option up your sleeve. Let me recommend to you this little piece of hope called... The Glow Worm.

My aunt had purchased it for me as a baby shower gift and while getting the nursery ready I placed it among the rest of her stuffed toys in her new toy chest. One desperate night around 3:45 a.m. in complete blackness, I distinctly remember throwing every single stuffed object out of the toy box in search for this worm. And from that night on, for us it has been heaven sent.

This little bugger is from Fisher Price and officially called the "Ocean Wonders Soothe and Glow Seahorse. ( I called it a worm previously since that is what I called mine when I was little- I guess in reality it is a seahorse). Whatever it is, I am grateful for it. It retails around $16.99 and let me tell you it is worth every penny. From its belly it emits the softest warm glow that the baby loves to look at and stroke.

The classical music plays for 5 minutes once the belly is pressed and one or two cycles is usually enough until she's in dreamland. The music is not too loud and there are a variety of songs so mama won't get sick of hearing the same ones over and over (also a plus).  The music will either shut off automatically with the light when finished or you can just hold down the stomach to turn it off.  Since it is a seahorse, throughout the songs you will hear bubbles and swishing sounds making it feel like you are under the sea. Not sure if this is an added bonus for the little one but it sure soothes mummy.

Bottom line: Mama bear and bb both love this product and most importantly it works. As demonstrated below...

F.Y.I. When reading a parenting discussion board this morning there was mention of some parents having issues when switching the batteries out of the seahorse. I have changed the batteries on ours about 3 times now without any issue but I will keep you updated!!
